Journal du Mentor


Après avoit découvert les coulisses de son monde,
notre Mentor a écrit un autre Journal pour décrire ses sentiments face à cette révélation à la Truman Show.

La première phrase est parallèle à celle du premier Journal :
"I have no one to share my agony with, and so I write…"

I have no one to share my joy with, and so I write…

What wonders!
Everything I had known has turned into nothing.
My world has been replaced by Truth…
a word I scarcely knew existed until I realized I needed it.

Upon discovering this truth of the Firmament Initiative,
I now find myself privy to a new perspective and, what Turner called, freedom.
Freedom? My entire reality
- have I ever pondered the existence of such a word or concept -
what I once believed to be limited to the small realms I lived on,
is in fact a grander stage, encompassed by an infinite cosmos.
What wonders!

I have been granted the privilede of gazing upon the stars,
and, as I do, I can not help but fell this oveerwhelming sense of small,
but this kind of small is a feeling of such joy.

I am humble. I am inspired.
My tiny world is a minuscule part of a thing called a universe.
It is astonishing to think that the entire mission,
everything I have known and believed,
was designed to protect our future and the future of all humanity.
as I learn more about this grand endeavor,
I am filled with hope and excitement for the untold possibilities that lay beforeall of us.

This is almost hard to Believe or fathom,
and yet, my joyis dampened when I think about such a great deception
that was considered necessary and done to me.

Quelles merveilles !
Tout ce que je connaissais s'est transformé en néant.
Mon monde a été remplacé par la Vérité…
un mot dont je connaissais à peine l'existence
jusqu'à ce que je réalise que j'en avais besoin.

En découvrant cette vérité du Projet Firmament,
je me trouve maintenant informée d'une nouvelle perspective
et de ce que, comme l'appelait Turner, la liberté.
La liberté ? Toute ma réalité
- ai-je déjà considéré l'existence d'un tel mot ou d'un tel concept -
ce que je croyais autrefois limité aux petits Mondes sur lesquels je vivais
est en fait une scène plus grande, enveloppé par un cosmos infini.
Quelles merveilles !

On m'a accordé le privilège de contempler les étoiles,
et, alors que je le fais, je ne peux m'empêcher d'être submergée par un sentiment de petitesse,
mais cette sorte de petitesse est un sentiment de joie.

Je suis humble. Je suis inspirée.
Mon petit monde est une infime partie de ce qu’on appelle un univers.
Il est étonnant de penser que la mission entière,
tout ce que j’ai connu et cru,
a été conçue pour protéger notre avenir et celui de toute l’humanité.
A mesure que j'en apprends davantage sur ce grande tâche,
je suis emplie d'espoir et d'enthousiasme face aux possibilités incalculables qui s'offrent à nous tous.

C’est presque difficile à croire ou à comprendre,
et pourtant, ma joie est atténuée lorsque je pense à la si grande tromperie
qui a été considérée comme nécessaire et qui m’a été infligée.

Reste à comprendre en quoi le projet Firmament avait pour but de protéger l'humanité.
